Living through the pandemic has put pressure on all of us and loneliness and isolation, as well as anxiety levels, have increased.
The psychological impact of the pandemic is still emerging, with hard working doctors, nurses, care workers being under especial pressure.
I wrote the words when reflecting on the idea that it only takes one real friend
to help us cope through life’s challenges. At the same time we need to be able to embrace our friend’s input to allow it to help us. We need to take responsibility for our own actions to have the best outcome.
This song was mixed by my son Neil www.fiverr.com/neilsaxby with the WAV files by the musicians emailed to him.
We’re pleased that to us it sounds as if we’ve been in the studio together.
I hope you like it and that it might lift your spirits
lyrics
Whoever has a friend has everything
Seeking the truth, the best fight against sadness
The truth
Listening and understanding, the best shield from madness
madness,madness ….madness. madness, madness
With fits of laughter like a child
laughter
It’s “ok” to be wild……
Being less serious
So it’s easier ……to query us
Whether high or low
Letting ourselves go!
Counting friends on our fingers
On our fingers
Messy or clean
Whether sane or drunk
Achieving our dream
No one is more special
No one’s special
We all have skills
Try to conquer ills
Honesty to ourselves
Be honest to yourself!
Keeps us well
Whether high or low
Letting ourselves go
Let’s go!
Counting friends on our fingers
Messy or clean
Whether sane or drunk
Achieving our dream
There’s a fine line
Between up and down
Recharging is ok
Recharge!
So our cares go away
Go away!
There’s a fine line
Between up and down
Recharging is ok
So our cares go away
Whoever has a friend has everything
Seeking the truth, the best fight against sadness
Listening and understanding, the best shield from madness
Whoever has a friend has everything
Whether high or low - letting ourselves go
Counting friends on our fingers
Lots of friends
Messy or clean
Whether sane or drunk
Achieving our dream
Counting friends on our fingers
Messy or clean
Whether sane or drunk
Achieving our dream
It’ll be OK!

My musical journey began when I gave an unrehearsed and impromptu after dinner speech to music at UCL Computer Science
Department's 35th Gala Dinner.
Thanks Kari and Nina for getting me started. The paintings are also my work to reflect the emotion of the song....more
